Necklace V
Sterling Silver 925 necklace. Oxidised
Please note this piece is Hallmarked, one of a kind and ready for immediate dispatch/collection.
Caring for your oxidised jewellery
Like plating, oxidising silver creates a surface reaction upon the top layer of metal. This makes the silver appear a dark grey colour. Oxidised silver will fade in time, but there are things you can do to slow the wear.
Do not apply perfume or other sprays while wearing your oxidised jewellery.
Wait until your lotion or cream is dry or has been absorbed by your skin before you wear your oxidised jewellery.
Substances like oil, nail polish, nail polish remover, chlorine, and perfume may react with metal/oxidised jewellery and cause it to wear. This is also true for sweat, so make sure you remove your oxidised jewellery when exercising, showering, bathing or swimming.
If your jewellery needs cleaning, you may clean it with warm, soapy water. Soak it for a few minutes before gently drying with a soft cloth. Avoid jewellery cleaners, antibacterial soaps and alcohol sanitisers which may harm your oxidised jewellery.
To avoid scratches, wrap your jewellery in a soft cloth after cleaning or keep it in a jewellery box separate from other pieces when stored. Small zip-locks work great.
Avoid polishing, rubbing or scratching your oxidised jewellery.
Pieces can be re-oxidised quickly & easily for a small fee. Please email victoria@blackcirclejewellery.co.uk for further information.
